We are willing to train the right candidates that may not have all the Kubernetes or CaC/IaC experience but possess strong engineering skills and an aptitude for understanding systems and desire to learn.

Job Description and Required Skills

To provide lead expertise in the hardening of containers specific to the CDAO (Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office). As well as maintaining the already approved containers by addressing new CVEs that come from continuous monitoring. 
  • 3+ years of experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines  
  • Expert knowledge on Container Hardening 
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience 
  • Ensure Container Hardening needs are met for the CDAO per the Iron Bank Hardening Process  
  • Work with the Container Hardening Team on Platform One/Repo One 
  • Experienced in developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications especially with respect to security and vulnerability testing. 
  • Generate Open Container Initiative (OCI) compliant hardened containers for commercial and open-source AI/ML data management tools such as data science, model development, and software applications development 
  • Support the automated development, testing, securing and hardening of containers 
  • Develop and maintain hardened containers of AI/ML tools, libraries, services, and test tools  
  • Using agile software practices 
  • Generate OCI compliant hardened containers for other commercial and open-source tools (e.g., security tools, user interface tools, audit and logging tools, etc.) 
  • Plan and manage agile software development processes required to accomplish the software development work.  
  • Generate and submit sprint plans 
  • Advanced experience in providing DevSecOps implementation using Jenkins, Gitlab, or similar tools.  
  • A passion for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines  
  • Work closely with DevSecOps teams to support containerizing platform services. 
  • Working knowledge of source version control, build/release tools and methodologies, CI/CD pipelines and the Software Build process 
  • Experienced in developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications especially with respect to security and vulnerability testing 
  • Strong ability to use solution-oriented approach towards problem resolution 
  • Ability to stay update on emerging security threats 
  • Strong “security first” mindset 

Desired Skills

  • GitOps development experience 
  • Experience with cloud systems and architectures (Amazon AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure) with configuration of AWS EC2 instances, and Lambda functions a plus 
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like Packer, Terraform, and Ansible 
  • Experience developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications 
  • Experience with DevSecOps implementation using Jenkins, Gitlab or similar tools 
  • A passion for agile and DevSecOps methodologies 
  • Development experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm 
  • Security+ Certification 
  • Cloud deployment experience preferred 

Education Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with a B.S/B.A. in Engineer, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics or equivalent technical degree, with concentrations/focus in software assurance or 15+ years equivalent experience.  

Salary Range

  • $100,000 - $160,000
